Scones
Rich biscuits typically made of wheat, barley, or oatmeal, scones are an integral part of the English cream tea, a light afternoon meal consisting of tea, scones, clotted cream, and jam. Rather than yeast, scones use baking powder as a leavening agent, making them denser than other teacakes or sweet buns.
